An initial therapy session costs £60 per session, and usually lasts around 90 minutes or longer .This may include either  EFT ,  hypnotherapy, and or auricular acupuncture (see below) depending on the clients particular problem. Follow on sessions cost £50 per session and usually last 60 minutes .

Q. How many sessions will I need?

Its hard to say. Some people only need one session, but others need several to get to the root of the problem . As a rule, anywhere between one and six sessions is normal.  A good therapist will aim to help you with your problem in as few sessions as possible, in order to keep your costs down. Discuss this with your therapist. It is best to aim for at least two sessions - the initial session, then a follow up session soon after, during which you and your therapist can fine tune any issues that have arisen since the initial session - this will cost you £90 in total. You can stop the sessions any time you want, but if you require more sessions, these will cost £40 per session.

Q. Can you see more than one person at a time?

Yes, this is possible , however it is usually more effective done on a one to one basis, as you have your therapist's full attention. This also allows you to discuss confidential matters and feelings, that may be embarrassing to talk about in front of others, but that may be at the root of your problem and so should be discussed.

Q. What do you mean by 'integrated hypnotherapy' ?

This simply means that the therapy is tailored to each individual client. During the first consultation, we will decide the best way forward to help you with your problem, using the most appropriate form of treatment, usually involving EFT or hypnotherapy  ( see below for more details ). Auricular acupuncture is also available, ( can be used during hypnotherapy)  and all options will be discussed before treatment commences.

Q. When I am 'under' will I be asleep?

You will be aware of everything that is happening and being said the whole time, however you will be so deeply relaxed that you may find yourself drifting into different levels of awareness. Remember, your subconscious mind is active throughout and it is this that your therapist is working with.

Q. Will I remember everything afterwards?

That depends how deep in hypnosis you are, but generally most people do remember either everything or certain parts of the experience. You will find that suggestions which have been given to you in hypnosis will resurface in your conscious, thinking mind after your hypnosis and these will be the thoughts that produce changes in your behaviour or way of thinking and feeling.

Q. Will I give away any secrets whilst I am hypnotised?

No, you won't say or do anything at all that you don't want to. If you were given suggestions that you didn't morally agree with you would come out of hypnosis.

Q. How do I know I will wake up from hypnosis?

No-one has ever remained in hypnosis indefinitely. Even if something were to happen to the hypnotherapist halfway through the session, you would still 'come out' of the trance state once rapport had been broken.

Q. Are there any side effects from hypnosis?

The only side effects are the beneficial ones of feeling more relaxed afterwards and feeling more positive about whatever it was you sought hypnotherapy for. Hypnosis is a perfectly natural state.

Q. What is hypnosis?

Hypnosis is a state of altered awareness during which our subconscious mind is more open and receptive to suggestions that are given. We drift in and out of different levels of awareness many times a day, absorbing information on a subliminal level as well as consciously. Your hypnotherapist will work with your imagination to help you to achieve your goals.

Q. How does it feel to be hypnotised?

Everyone is different. Some people say that their body feels like a lead weight, others say they feel as though they're floating away. Most people will agree that it's a lovely feeling because they are more relaxed that they have ever been before.

Q. Can I be hypnotised against my will?

No, anyone can resist and it won't work. Hypnosis is cooperation between two people - your therapist will show you the way and you can choose if you want to go there or not.

Q. I went to a hypnotherapist once before and it didn't work. Does this mean I'm not able to be hypnotised?

The most common reason for failure to induce trance is lack of rapport. To overcome this problem, contact different therapists and choose one that you instinctively trust.

Q. How do I find a good therapist?

Word of mouth is always a good way. Also, it is highly recommended that you choose a therapist who is qualified, insured, and who belongs to a professional body, such as the General Hypnotherapy Register, or the National Register for Hypnotherapists and Psychotherapists. See the links on the home page of this site. If you have a therapist recommended to you, check their credentials .

Q. What is EFT?

Plainly speaking , EFT or Emotional Freedom Therapy is a psychological version of acupuncture with one major difference, no needles are used, you simply tap the acupressure points with your fingers.

Q. Which is better EFT or hypnosis?

In a way EFT is the new hypnosis. Both therapies have their own merits , but it is a decison for you to make with your therapist as to which therapy would be most effective for you. EFT  produces a high success rate, iand it can produce results quickly. With EFT you are fully awake during the whole session . I offer an integrated hypnotherapy session which combines the two, for powerful results.

Q. How does EFT work?

EFT works by balancing energy disruptions in your body and releasing the negative emotions. It uses natural ways to comfort and heal you.

Q. How is EFT done?

I will teach you how to tune into your problem. You will then repeat some phrases while tapping certain acupressure points.

Q. Do you have to believe in EFT in order for it to work?

No. EFT works whether you believe in it or not. It does not work as a placebo affect. Even if you are a hardened skeptic EFT will work for you.

Q. Is EFT Dangerous?

EFT has never been proven to be dangerous in anyway shape or form.

Q. Are there any negative side effects, or does it hurt?

EFT has no known side affects,  and it is totally pain free

Q. On whom would EFT be best suited for?

EFT can work on everybody from babies to pensioners.

Q. When I tried EFT it did not work.

Then you applied EFT incorrectly. Just tapping on the various tapping points will do nothing for you. EFT is also based on psychology. To make the EFT work for you then you have to understand the psychology of EFT. You also have to know how to work out the root causes of the problem. It is strongly recommended that you seek help from a professional.
